Christ Presbyterian Church is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is one of thirty churches within the Presbytery de Cristo which stretches across southern Arizona and the western edge of New Mexico. Together we share our resources to help make our part of the world a better and more peaceful place for all.
Our congregation began in 1956, meeting in Alice Vail Junior High school. More than 50 years later we have a campus that is amazing: A worship center in the Round, Fellowship Space, Classrooms that are fun for children of all ages, a great grass quad and a huge gymnasium. It feels like almost all the time there’s something going on here for people of the church and the Tucson community.
We invite you to come and check us out and to join with us as a member of our church family. Our congregation is made up of a dynamic mixture of young and mature people, families with children, and singles growing in faith together. Participants are involved in a wide variety of study, fellowship and service opportunities. Pastor Steve Melde engages all in creative and provocative worship. Our Christian Education programs include Sunday School for all ages, (kids love the story teller room, the movie theater, the gym, the computer lab and more), youth activities for Middle and High Schoolers on Sunday evenings, and weekday studies and activities which help us all to grow in our faith. Winter Residents and Davis Monthan personnel and families find a sense of home away from home here and are a vital part of what makes Christ Presbyterian Church, a Caring, Passionate Community.
